How to Make Homemade Vanilla Cream Soda
Yields: 12 servings, 12 oz each

Ingredients needed to make Homemade Vanilla Cream Soda:
- 2 litre club soda
- 1 cup water
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- ¼ cup heavy whipping cream (optional)
- 1 ½ tbsp pure vanilla extract or 1 vanilla pod, split
Cooking instructions for Homemade Vanilla Cream Soda:
- Empty the cups of sugar into a medium saucepan and pour in water.
- Heat the mixture over moderately high flame, while stirring gently and bring it to a boil.
- Continue to do so until the sugar dissolves and the syrup turn somewhat cloudy white and later crystal clear; it will take about 3-5 minutes.
- Turn off the heat and drop the split vanilla pod into the hot syrup; in case you are using vanilla extract, stir it into the syrup.
- Put a lid on and set aside for an hour to let the vanilla infuse its flavours into the syrup.
- Discard the pod and pour it into a Ziploc bag or airtight container, seal it and leave in the freezer for several hours or until required.
- To make the soda, tip the syrup into a large jug or pitcher, followed by the club soda or sparkling water.
- Whisk in the whipping cream until well combined and leave it the refrigerator for a couple of hours or until it is chills.
- Pour it into 12 oz glasses and serve chilled.
