How to Make Homemade Butterbeer

Ingredients needed to make Homemade Butterbeer:

For the butterbeer:

  • Six 12 oz bottles cream soda, chilled
  • 2 tbsp clarified butter or 1 tbsp artificial butter flavor

For the foam:

  • 6 tbsp sugar
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 ½ tsp artificial butter flavor
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Cooking instructions for Homemade Butterbeer:

  • For the butterbeer, place six 16 oz glasses side by side and add 1 tsp of the clarified butter or half tsp of artificial butter flavor into each glass.
  • Fill each of them with 12 oz of the cream soda and give it a slight stir to mix.
  • To make it foamy, whisk the cream using a stand mixer, set at moderately high speed, for about 5 minutes or until it becomes thicker.
  • Stir in the sugar and continue to whisk the cream for another 4 minutes or until it forms very soft peaks.
  • Add a splash of vanilla to it, followed by the artificial butter flavouring and whip it for last half minutes or until the peaks becomes slightly more firm.
  • Top each glass of butterbeer with a large dollop of this foam and stir in gently.
  • Serve right away.
  • In case, it is served to an adult, you can also add a splash of light rum for an extra kick!
