How to Make Pear Haymaker Cocktail

Ingredients needed to make Pear Haymaker Cocktail:
For the ginger syrup:
- 1 cup sugar
- ¼ cup ginger, peeled and sliced
For the cocktail:
- 1 fragrant and fine textured pear, peeled, cored and chopped
- 1 oz fresh lemon juice
- 4 oz vodka
- Ginger ale
Cooking instructions for Pear Haymaker Cocktail:
- For the ginger syrup, toss the ginger slices into a small saucepan and empty a cup of sugar into it.
- Pour in a cup of water and cook the mixture over moderately high heat until it begins to boil.
- Turn off the heat and set aside to cool down to room temperature.
- Pass it through a fine mesh strainer to do away with the ginger slices and store the syrup in an airtight vessel until required.
- To make the cocktail, plop the pear chunks into two 12 oz glasses and pound them with a wooden muddler until they become mushy.
- Pour in 2 oz of vodka into each glass and top it up with lots of ice cubes.
- Drizzle ½ oz of ginger syrup over each drink, followed by a splash of half of the lemon juice in each.
- Give them a good stir until well combined and top it up with ginger ale.
- Serve chilled and sip in!
