How to Cook Tofu Fingers

Ingredients needed to make Tofu Fingers:
- 1 lb extra firm tofu, pressed
- ¼ cup canola oil
- ¼ cup all purpose flour
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 cups vegetables broth
- 1 tsp ground black pepper
- 1 tsp salt
Cooking instructions for Tofu Fingers:
- Slice the tofu into 12-16 strips, each of ½’’ in thickness.
- Pour the broth into a large resealable plastic bag and drop the tofu strips into it.
- Seal and leave it in the fridge for a couple of hours to allow the broth seep into the tofu.
- Drain them out into a bowl and throw away the broth.
- Place the panko breadcrumbs in a medium bowl and stir in flour as well as dashes of seasonings until they are mixed properly.
- Transfer the tofu strips into the bowl, few at a time, and roll them in it to coat well on every sides.
- Pour the canola oil in a deep-bottomed skillet and heat it over moderately high flame.
- Drop the dredged tofu into the hot oil, working in batches to avoid over-crowding, and deep-fry until they turn crispy and brown evenly.
- Drain them out, with the help of slotted spoon , into a shallow bowl and keep warm until all the tofu fingers are deep-fried.
- Sprinkle a dash of salt and ground black pepper over them and toss well to coat.
- Arrange them on a large serving platter and serve warm.
