  • 1 tbsp caramel sauce, recipe below
  • 6 oz Vanilla yogurt
  • 1 cup Almond milk
  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of ground clove
  • Large pinch of ground ginger

For the caramel sauce:

  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ¾ cup white sugar
  • 60 gm unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup boiling water
  • 2 tsp vanilla essence
  • ½ cup cream

Cooking instructions for Banana Caramel Smoothie:

  • Stir in the vanilla extract into the cream and set aside until required.
  • Empty the cup of white sugar into a medium pot and heat it over slow flame until it melts to form a deep golden caramel; don’t stir to avoid any sugar crystals in it.
  • Empty the cup of boiling water in it and continue to cook, while stirring regularly, until it forms a smooth blend.
  • Whisk in the brown sugar as well as butter and cook until the sugar dissolves and the caramel becomes smoother.
  • Pour in the vanilla-flavoured cream into the caramel and stir them well together to mix thoroughly.
  • Turn off the heat and set aside until it cools down to form a thick sauce.
  • Store it in an airtight container in the fridge until required.
  • To make the smoothie, put the banana into a food processor, along with rest of the ingredients.
  • Pulse them several times until they blend together to form a smooth mixture.
  • Pour it into two 12 oz glasses and serve chilled.
