How to Make Stain Glass Jelly

Makes: 12-15 servings

Ingredients needed to make Stain Glass Jelly:

  • 2 packages lime gelatin, 3 oz each
  • 1 package( 3 oz) strawberry gelatin
  • 1 package (3 oz)watermelon gelatin
  • 2 packages unflavoured gelatin
  • 12 oz frozen whipped topping, thawed and divided
  • 1 ½ cups white grape juice
  • 1/3 cup cold water

Cooking instructions for Stain Glass Jelly:

  • Empty 3 cups of water into a large bowl and stir in the lime gelatin until it dissolves.
  • Grease the sides and base of an 8’’ square dish with cooking spray and pour the gelatin mixture into it.
  • Toss the watermelon and strawberry gelatin together in a separate bowl and stir in rest of the boiling water until the mixture dissolves.
  • Pour this mixture into another 8’’ square dish, prepared in a similar manner, and leave both the dishes in the fridge until the gelatin sets.
  • In the meantime, dust the unflavoured gelatin into a bowl of cold water and set aside for a minute.
  • Pour the grape juice into a small saucepan and bring to a boil.
  • Leave it in the fridge for about 45 minutes or until it thickens considerably.
  • Fold in a couple of cups of whipped topping into the thick grape juice until they blend into a uniform mixture.
  • Remove the jellies from the fridge and demould onto two separate plates.
  • Slice the green gelatin into ½’’ dices and the red one into 1’’ dices.
  • Empty another couple of cups of whipped topping into another bowl and stir in the green gelatin until they are distributed evenly throughout the mixture.
  • Spoon this mixture into a 9 x 13 baking dish, pre-greased with cooking spray and spread it evenly across the base.
  • Stir the red gelatin cubes into rest of the whipped topping until they are distributed evenly throughout the mixture and spread it evenly on top of the green gelatin layer.
  • Leave the dish with layered jelly, into the fridge for a couple of hours or until they are completely firm.
  • Remove from fridge and invert it into a flat plate.
  • Slice the jelly into small squares and serve with grilled cheese or just like that.
