How to Cook Waffles For Brunch

Ingredients needed to make Waffles For Brunch:

For the waffle:

  • 9 oz all purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 15 fl oz full fat milk
  • 3 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 4 oz unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp salt

For the hollandaise sauce:

  • 2 egg yolks
  • 2 tsp white wine vinegar
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 4 ½ oz butter, melted
  • Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

For the egg:

  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tbsp white wine vinegar

Cooking instructions for Waffles For Brunch:

  • Warm up your waffle maker to moderate heat and your oven to 275 degrees F.
  • Place a wire rack onto a large baking sheet and position them into the oven to keep warm.
  • Stir the sugar, salt and baking powder into the flour and pour in the beaten eggs.
  • Whisk the mixture in a food processor while you pour the milk in a steady stream, until all of it is incorporated into the mixture.
  • Fold the melted butter into the batter and whisk them into a uniform mixture, without lumps.
  • Spoon some of it into each segment of the waffle maker and put the lid on.
  • Cook the waffle for about 5 minutes or until it turns crispy golden brown.
  • Transfer the waffle to wire rack inside the oven to keep them warm and make rest of the waffles in a similar fashion until all of the batter is used up.
  • To cook the sauce, heat butter in a saucepan until it melts and becomes foamy.
  • Meanwhile, whisk the vinegar and lemon juce together in a separate small skillet and cook until it begins to boil; remove from heat and set aside.
  • Whisk the egg yolks in a food processor,along with a dash of salt and pour in the above mixture in a thin stream while processing the sauce.
  • Pour the melted butter similarly and beat them into a smooth sauce.
  • Stir in a dash each of the seasonings and set aside.
  • To cook the poached eggs, boil salted water in a pan and stir in the vinegar.
  • Crack the egg into the vinegar-water mixture and simmer for a couple of minutes before draining it off with a slotted spoon; poach rest of the eggs similarly.
  • Arrange the waffles onto serving plates and place a poached egg on top of each.
  • Spoon the sauce over the eggs and serve at once.
